FIAT! Debate Romanian World Schools Tournament 2007

General Information

We are delighted to invite you to the third edition of the Fiat Debate! Romanian World Schools Tournament which will take place between the 28th of April -2nd of May in Sinaia, one of the most charming mountain resorts in Romania. The tournament will be held in the World Schools format and there will be a separate Karl Popper competition for those who prefer this debating style. It will be a great opportunity to improve your debating skills, to add another great experience to your debating activity while in the same time enjoying a beautiful mountain view. Additionally, the schedule of the events is organized in such a way that it combines the daily events with short trip to nature and visits to the surrounding castles. Fiat Debate! Romanian World Schools Tournament is now at the third edition, in the past hosting participants from the Czech Republic, Germany and the United Kingdom, and gaining a large amount of prestige at the national level, being the only Romanian tournament held in the this debating format. Fiat Debate! is an event looking to grow each year together with its participants, eager to take a new debating challenge.

Registration

The registration fee is of 50 euros per debater and it covers the accomodation and meals to the Casa Duca guest house from Sinaia, as well as the costs to the surrounding area, the coach accompanying the team is fee extempt. Motions

There will be three impromptu motions: two rounds and a semifinal and three prepared motions: two rounds and the final. They are as follows:

This House would not give development aid to non-democratic governments.

This House believes that the United States should promote democracy worldwide.
